The dashboard
KD Admin, the dashboard Karuturi Dynamics runs on.
The home screen as it appears on the desk. On the live dashboard every figure comes from the company's books.
Proformas sent, not yet invoiced: ₹2,12,400, shown apart and not added in.
No deadlines entered after 15 Dec.
Each screen answers one question about the company's money, and every figure opens the records behind it.
What it shows
Cash, revenue, tax and running costs, on one screen.
Cash
- Current and effective balance
- The bank balance from the latest bank alert, less what the company owes, shows what is actually free to spend.
- Money in and out
- Every receipt and payment appears as it reaches the bank, with its date and what it was for.
- Bank reconciliation
- Each statement line is matched to an invoice or a bill, and the unmatched lines are listed first.
Revenue
- Invoices and receivables
- Open proformas, unpaid invoices and payments received are listed by month, so the amount owed is always one number.
- Clients
- Each client's GSTIN, contracts, next bill and every document issued to them sit on one page.
- Turnover and profit
- Turnover, spend and profit before tax for the financial year to date are kept current from the books.
Tax and compliance
- GST estimate and filing dates
- Output tax, input credit and the net amount due are worked out from the GST printed on each invoice and bill, with the next filing date beside them.
- Compliance calendar
- GST, TDS, income tax and company filings are listed by month with days left, and overdue items are marked from today's date.
- Reports
- Profit and loss for a month or a year, with the GST working and the expenses register exported as CSV for the accountant.
Running costs
- Money out by category
- Expenses are grouped by category, with capital purchases and depreciation kept on their own lines.
- Subscriptions
- Every active subscription is listed with its cost and its latest bill, so a forgotten renewal is visible.
Working with it
- Questions
- When a record needs a decision, such as who paid a bill or what a payment was for, the question waits in the app for an answer.
- Phone app
- The dashboard installs on the phone's home screen, where a receipt can be photographed and attached to its transaction.
How it is set up
Built on the records you already have.
Nothing is typed in twice.
The books and every record behind the dashboard belong to the startup, and the reports export as CSV.
- Step 01
Connect the bank
Bank alerts and monthly statements feed the balance and the transaction list.
- Step 02
Bring in invoices and books
Existing invoices, bills and the accounts are loaded, so the first screen already shows the year to date.
- Step 03
Enter the obligations
GST registration, TDS, income tax and company filings are set up from the startup's own filings and registrations.
- Step 04
Keep it current
New invoices, bills and bank lines are added as they arrive, and anything unclear becomes a question in the app.
Questions
What founders ask first.
Is this the same dashboard Karuturi Dynamics uses?
Yes. Karuturi Dynamics runs its own finances on KD Admin. A startup's dashboard is built the same way, from that startup's own bank, invoices and books.
Does it replace an accountant?
No. It shows the figures and the dates; filings and tax advice stay with the startup's accountant, who can be given the exported reports.
Where do the figures come from?
From the startup's bank alerts and statements, its invoices and bills, and its books. A figure that cannot be worked out yet says so instead of showing zero.
Is the GST figure exact?
It is an estimate built only from the GST printed on each invoice and bill. Input credit is marked as not yet checked against GSTR-2B until it has been.
Can it run on a phone?
Yes. It installs as an app on the phone's home screen, with the same figures as the desk.
